Statement to International Students

There are a few University of Minnesota Offices and Departments that are essential to an International Student. If you are an international student, there are certain government and university rules and regulations that you must be in compliance with. You are responsible for knowing the information that is available on these and other websites. Especially periodically check the ISSS office webpage - that is the office that handles your visa issues.

Graduate Assistant Employment Office "Requirements for Nonnative English Speaking Teaching Assistants: Current University of Minnesota policy requires that all nonnative English speaking Teaching Assistants or prospective Teaching Assistants who are or will be assigned to teaching, tutoring, or advising duties (including office hours) must 1) Take the SPEAK Test; and 2) Score 55 or 60 on the SPEAK Test (TSE)."
