Policies Regarding Graduate Student Funding

The Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature recognizes eligibility of CSDS and Comparative Literature students for a maximum of five years of financial support. Unfortunately, this does not mean that we can necessarily guarantee full support for five years. While we make every effort to do this, we may not always secure all the resources necessary. What it does mean is that in the interests of fairness to all, students in their first five years have priority of funding. Students beyond the fifth year are afforded support when resources permit. Note that some other sources of support (for example, Composition in the English Department) allow a longer term of eligibility.
